G’day, kia ora, welcome.
I’m Dylan, an experienced motion designer creating graphics and animation for all sorts of beautiful moving things, like TV commercials, web videos and digital signage.
I work with a wide range of clients on big and small projects from my own full-service home studio. I'm a 2D/3D generalist with two decades of industry experience.
Born and bred in New Zealand, I now live and work on Wurundjeri Country in the leafy western ‘burbs of Melbourne/Naarm. I journeyed from NZ to Melbs by way of London, where I lived and worked for a couple of years, before following some work opportunities to Australia in 2010. I fell in love with Melbourne (and a wonderful local woman), and have since built a life and family here.
I studied Visual Communication back in the day, at Massey University in Wellington (2001-2004), and devoured typography, fine art, graphic design and animation.
I jumped into the music video world early on, creating animated films with a bunch of awesome kiwi bands. Then I made the leap into more legit work with local creative companies, and lapped up a wealth of broad experience, including video editing and mastering.
Somewhere along the way I was drawn to motion graphics. I love its cool combination of creative elements, and I thrive on the challenges presented by distilling visual information into animation. Solving puzzles and communicating efficiently through motion design endlessly stimulates me and fuels my imagination.
When I’m not bunkered down in a dark studio painting pixels on a computer screen, I love letting my imagination run wild with Lego, and listening to the legendary Bruce Springsteen with the occasional aged whiskey in my hand. But most of all I love my family.
Got a cool motion project you need a hand with? Get in touch and let’s collaborate.
